Living in South Norman, OK

Eagle Cliff is a neighborhood in the fast-growing city of Norman, OK and is located just south of Highway 9. This is a fantastic location if you are working south of Norman or need access to roads south of Norman, like Highway 9.

Eagle Cliff has homes that are really affordable and are consistently lower than homes you’ll see in north Norman. There are a couple other neighborhoods near Eagle Cliff including Cedar Lane and Monterey. The first homes in the Eagle Cliff neighborhood were built in the early 1980’s and the most recent homes in Eagle Cliff are still being built.

Homes in Eagle Cliff range in size from 900 square feet all the way up to 2,500 square feet, with the typical sqaure footage right around 1,600. This means there is a lot of variety here in range of size and also, because of the age difference between the home in Eagle Cliff, there is something that everyone can enjoy.

Things to do around the Community

Parks, Shops & More

Eagle Cliff does have a few different parks and open spaces right in the neighborhood itself, that range from your basic open space to an actual playground. There are walking trails, basketball courts, backstops, and of course, soccer fields too, which is really nice. Cobblestone Creek Golf Course is less than 5 minutes away – Book a Tee Time.

Staying close to Eagle Cliff, you’ll also find Starbucks, some different gyms, gas stations, other restaurants and the Walmart Super Center.

If you get a hankering for small-town life, Noble is really close to Eagle Cliff as well. This location is also an easy drive to University of Oklahoma campus and then to other businesses in south Norman like the weather center, Hitachi and the postal training center.

Oklahoma City is about 30 minutes north of Eagle Cliff, depending on where you’re headed, specifically. Downtown OKC, otherwise known as Bricktown, has lots of nightlife, water taxi tours on the canal, and the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. You can attend an OKC Thunder game, visit the beautiful Myriad Botanical Gardens, or enjoy an outdoor event at Scissortail Park.

How does it compare?

Eagle Cliff is a popular neighborhood to live and the cost of housing here does make a huge difference. If you haven’t seen my cost of living in Oklahoma video, you’re definitely going to want to check that out next.

I’ve seen people get homes in Eagle Cliff for as little as $100,000, but those are usually really small and usually in poor condition, especially compared to the newer homes in Eagle Cliff. The newer homes are selling for closer to $250,000 and you’ll find properties between those price points as well; usually between $150,000 – $250,000.
