Rustic Oaks is a neighborhood that has an awesome location in Souteast Choctaw, about 6 minutes drive to the new Kickapoo Turnpike and only about 20 minutes to Tinker Air Foce Base and Boeing. The new turnpike connects to I-40 & I-240, which helps that makes the drive feel a lot faster.
Choctaw is a little town located to the east of Oklahoma City and is growing quickly. There are a lots of opportunities in Choctaw to buy newer builds that have more space than your typical city lot.
A few of the other neighborhoods around Rustic Oaks are Little Tree, Stonegate Crossing, Huntington, and Fox Hollow. Rustic Oaks started in 2019 and there’s a great mix between contemporary and traditional homes – it’s not a cookie cutter neighborhood in the least. All of the homes are super unique and beautiful!
Community Vibes
Small, but not TOO Small
One of the cool things about Rustic Oaks neighborhood is it’s size. The yards are about a half acre and they are nice, square lots. So even though they aren’t as big as some lots you’ll find in other neighborhoods, you still feel like you have space between you and your neighbors, yet it’s still close enough to be neighborly, so there’s a really great community feel. Because of the gated entry, Rustic Oaks is a quiet neighborhood without much traffic.
Homes in this neighborhood are typically between 2,500 square feet and 3,000 square feet. Some have an upstairs bonus room or other rooms and most have 3 car garages or more.
The school district for the Rustic Oaks neighborhood is Choctaw Nicoma Park, so the elementary school your children would likely attend would be Indian Meridian Elementary, and then as they get older, Choctaw Middle School and Choctaw High School.
As you might have guessed, there is an HOA in Rustic Oaks. With an HOA you’ll have certain rules to abide by as a resident and there are documents that go over them like what sorts of animals are allowed, if you can have outbuildings, road maintence and things like that. Options Close to Home!
Like we said before, Choctaw is still a growing town – as of 2022 the population is still under 13,000. So from Rustic Oaks, a lot of people do drive to Midwest City for things like restaurants, grocery shopping, and going to to the doctor. Right across the gate from Tinker AFB they have a lot of shops in Midwest City like Target, Lowe’s, Best Buy, restaurants & fast food places.
However, on the north end of Choctaw, you’ll still find plenty going on. They have WalMart (with groceries), Best Western, Metropolitan Library, Choctaw Creek Golf Course, Los Tapatios, Charlie’s Sports Grill, CVS, Braum’s, Johnny’s Italian, Starbucks, O’Reilly Autoparts, Healthcare Express Urgent Care, along with some fast food joints like McDonald’s, Taco Bell & Sonic. There’s also a little grocery store & gas station called Panek’s that’s only a few minutes south of the Rustic Oaks neighborhood.
