Brookhaven is one of the older neighborhoods in Norman, OK. The development started in the late 1960s and homes are still being built in certain areas. Each home has a unique style because builders did not purchase hundreds of lots when they started to build. Homes in Brookhaven can range from 1500 square feet all the way up to 7000 or greater so there’s something for everyone!
Different sections of Brookhaven stretch from Main Street all the way to Rock Creek Road, though all the sections are between 36th street and 48th. There is also a section of patio homes that are walkable to some shopping!
Three different elementary schools in Norman serve Brookhaven, Truman, Roosevelt, and Cleveland. Junior High students attend Whittier and the high school is Norman North. Brookhaven residents also have easy access to a private Christian school nearby next to I-35.

This area of Norman, OK features several gyms including The Health Club, Solid Rock Training Center, Space Yoga Studio, Norman Strength and Bart Connor’s Gymnastics!
Brookhaven Village is a shopping center where you can grab sushi, pizza, pub food or even shop for home furniture and even pet supplies!
There are several neighborhood parks around the area, some homes even back up to the parks! Ruby Grant Park is the newest park in the west side Norman area and it has a dog park, disc golfing, a playground, practice fields, and trails for walking or running throughout the 153 acre park.
Westwood Golf Course, one of Oklahoma’s premier public courses, is less than 10 minutes away. This 6,200-yard, 18-hole course was recently renovated and is perfect for both weekend or avid golfers. Lessons, memberships and junior programs are also available. Book a Tee Time.
Leaving the Brookhaven neighborhood, you have lots of shops nearby just on the other side of the freeway and then there’s also downtown Norman with tons of great restaurants, boutiques, breweries and bars. Watch our downtown Norman series for even more info!
Oklahoma City is about 15-25 minutes north of Brookhaven, depending on where you’re headed, specifically. Downtown OKC, otherwise known as Bricktown, has lots of nightlife, water taxi tours on the canal, and the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. You can attend an OKC Thunder game, visit the Myriad Botanical Gardens, or Scissortail Park.
