Hi this is Marcie Billen with Rüya Team Realty and Keller Williams Mulinix here in Norman, Oklahoma and I want to give you guys a tour of what downtown Norman, OK, is like. This is going to be a multiple part tour so this is just the first episode and I’m gonna be on the westside of the railroad tracks showing you downtown. So come on, let’s go – let’s see what’s down here!
At the corner of University and Main Street is the point in downtown Norman where it goes from a two-lane road over here to one lane, and then on Gray Street is where the street goes the other direction. So I just want to point out a couple of things here: first is this bank here, on the corner. One of our regional banks, Armstrong. And then on this side, we have Norman Stamp n’ Seal, which you can see on the corner. They always have a really great funny quote. So other things of course, that are in downtown that I won’t cover too much of are, there’s a lot of churches that are especially on the back side of downtown and then we have some other shops as well, and you know like accountants, lawyers, things like that – and that is too because the courthouse is in downtown and it is the county seat, but I’ll cover that in another video as well.
So what you see here, where that mural for Norman is, that’s a new building that we have and on the other side is our food truck park. Now, the food park isn’t huge however, for Norman, it’s definitely a step in the right direction for us. For bigger food truck parks, you can absolutely go to the city and there’s one specifically there, that people tend to go to to have large room gatherings. So here in front of us, is a restaurant called Scratch and they have great brunch, and also a great dinner, and a really good business lunch, as well. We were really excited when this restaurant came to town and it’s proven perfect for downtown.
The Winston, is incredibly popular and there’s actually a sister restaurant on the other side of town as well, called Pub W. Their patio is great and they have brunch, and of course dinner, and they serve a variety of liquors and beers as well, and often have specials on those. Right next to it is Neighborhood Jam. So Neighborhood Jam is perhaps the most popular brunch spot in Norman. They’re open every day until two o’clock, so they don’t serve dinner or anything else. It’s all breakfast food, all the time. They also have some other food too, but their breakfast food is the best. They also have their specials posted daily on the sidewalk, and then their patio.
All right so this is Benvenuti’s and this is one of the most popular restaurants in Norman. People often come here for date night, you can see their patio and how it’s set up here. So it’s directly across the street from Jam; you can see that on the other side, and then it is like right next to the train tracks, which are right here as well.
So one thing that you will see a lot of in downtown Norman, is people taking photos because we have some pretty great backdrops that you can use in your photos. And then there’s also some cool murals that I will cover in some of the other videos as well. I hope this was helpful! Don’t forget to look for the leg of the tour of downtown Norman, OK in Part 2!
