Hi there! I’m Marcie, a realtor in Norman, Oklahoma with Rüya Team Realty and Keller Williams Mulinix. Today I’m going to cover part three of my downtown Norman series. If you haven’t seen part one and part two of the downtown Norman tour, be sure to check those out! Today I’m going to cover both sides of Main Street because there’s Eufalla on one side with Comanche and then Gray street on the other side. We’ll be talking more about some of the shops & businesses, as well as some events that we have in the area and of course, some great places to get some grub!

Shops & Businesses

Sprouts is one of our beloved grocery stores; definitely one of the more popular places to get some food. Of course you have lots of Walmarts as well. Cellar, I believe, is the largest liquor store in Norman. At the corner of Peters and Eufalla is the town courthouse. On this side of town we have Hiland Dairy, which employs a lot of people in Norman. We do have a few kind of event type places downtown here – I know of three. One’s out of brewery, one’s at a restaurant, and then the other is just an event center  called The Railhouse. S&J Marketplace is an antique shop downtown on Gray street and another little shop that you can go to downtown is called Stash, which is great for when you are looking for a unique gift for someone!

Restaurants

Blu is a fun restaurant that we used to go to a lot. They have great drinks, great  pizza; just a great place to have events if you need to because they  have a couple of rooms there as well. The outdoor patio is pretty nice. They also have an indoor type of  patio and then of course also indoor dining area. Lazy Circles is right near Blu and it is one of the many breweries that we have been talking about on our downtown tours.

Across from the antique shop, there is coffee shop called Gray Owl Coffee that has been in Norman for, I believe, around 12 or 13 years and I have frequented quite a bit at this point.

Events & Entertainment

You’ve already seen some of the pretty awesome murals in the first two parts of the downtown Norman tour that I’ve done and there are a lot more by Stash. Adjacent to all the murals, you’ll also see some picnic tables in a large, open area. During an event we have, called Friday Night Art Walk, there’s typically some food trucks down here and stuff and you can sit and they often have activities, but then also outside of this area, they’ll be some pop-up shops that you can look at. Of course the mural up on the big building, the yellow and blue one, is definitely iconic Norman and this artist has a few different murals around town.

As I have mentioned before, there are train tracks that run through the downtown area, but we don’t have any train whistles which is really nice! All of the train whistles are turned off, but we still get to see trains as they come and go. Norman is an amazing city, I love living here and I think you could too if you’re thinking about moving here, or even just visiting!

I’m gonna have one more part  in the downtown Norman series – tell me your favorite part of the downtown Norman tour has been so far!
